We Stand at the dawn, of a new millennium. (not bad so far, eh?)
Calendar events get their importance from the energy invested in them. In the spirit of these times, gathering the swirl of thoughts and prayers, the threads of consciousness, my heart declares itself free from the bondage of old ways, and propels my mind into new realms of expression. This church, and this site, are fruits of this process.

The guiding principle of the Church of Distributed Consciousness is love. Rather than struggle with defining love, I propose that just doing it will cause the flower to bloom. Believing as I do, that every soul is a container of the one spirit, that yearns to love and be loved, reaching out to each other, and to the stars, we fashion tokens.

For matters of the heart, love is not love if not expressed. We cannot love a lover without the gentle touch, and we cannot love humanity without coming to its aid and defense. We must bring nothing less than our truest possible awakened selves to the enterprise.

This Church IS an enterprise, an enterprise that seeks the advancement of the human spirit, in the general (what can I do to help), and in the specific (what can I become, to be more helpful). This domain is an expression of these principles.

Human kind has, since its beginning, organized itself along local, geographic lines. The astounding variety of practice and belief resulting from this, is a strength; the purity of isolation, stimulating creativity. Conflict, however, is the weakness of this geographic approach. Because the world "was" large, and frightening, the rule of "us versus them" came to dominate social interaction. Churches are, by definition, social institutions, through which their communicants interact with each other, the world outside, and the spirit that guides them; hence, community of intent. Among us, there is wide variety expression, yet this Church is, in this respect, no different.

My hope and vision for the Church is that it creates and recreates itself continuously, through the process of interaction, in the light that illuminates our varied paths, foremost, being love.

Following isa bit of less serious, but no less heartfelt stream of consciousness. Think of it as an appetizer.
